We often have users at Scarleteen struggling with certain feelings - or with accepting them — ask, “Is it logical I’m feeling like this?” Or, “Why am I feeling like this? It makes no sense!”
Here’s the cool thing about feelings: they don’t have to be logical.
Plenty of times, in one way or another, they’re not. Sometimes? They are REALLY not. And that’s okay. They get to be illogical.
They’re not strategies or philosophies or formulas that need to meet proofs, budget sheets where everything has to line up; they’re feelings, and one of the cool perks of being them is that they get to flip the bird and say “Logic-schmogic. Whatever.” (And often, that’s exactly what they do, whether we like it or not.) - HC
